What I did with Tito on my day off on Monday
Ate breakfast

What Dave did on his day off with Tito on Tuesday
Did all the grocery shopping with Tito
Took Tito to to the zoo for an hour, took a train ride, bought a family zoo membership
Got lunch, picked me up from work, and drove us to the park for a picnic
Dropped me off at work and drove back to the park
Fed the ducks and played on the playground with Tito
Went home for a nap
Picked me up from work
Came home and made dinner for everyone (and then cleaned the dishes)

To be fair to me, I think they did watch a little Elmo’s World around breakfast time. But still. Methinks it’s time for Dad to stay home more with the kid.

On Tito’s list of favorite people, we’ve all been replaced. Yes, it appears that he has come to cherish others even more than his own flesh and blood.
Thank you, Sesame Street, for creating characters even more lovable than real-life family members.
May I present to you, Tito’s new best friends: “Cookie” and Elmo. Not only does he sleep with them, he does just about everything else with them too.
He shares snacks with them.
He changes their diapers.
He goes potty with them.
He brushes their teeth.
I would be jealous if it weren’t so dang cute.

Tito got into his first fight with a canine bully last week. It was awful. It happened so fast that no one was able to defend him. He received a blow to his face that could have been bite marks or just a bad scratch (we weren’t sure) so we had to take him into the doctor just in case.
Luckily, he will be OK. The flesh wound will heal and there won’t be any scarring according to the doctor. He’s currently recovering on antibiotics and is doing well – as you can see in the picture above.
He’s also not holding any grudges. Cuz he’s forgiving like that.
On the other hand, if I ever see his attacker around, there will be hell to pay.
Yeah, this means, you, fluff ball. You may look all cute and cuddly and innocent-like, but we both know the truth don’t we?
Wanted. For beckoning small children to pet him with his irrisitable cuteness and then attacking out of nowhere.

My mom and dad have been taking care of Tito three days a week since he was just a wee one. He has since learned how to speak some Italian, how to thoroughly scrub down a kitchen floor, and how to fully appreciate both Sesame Street and the finer points of watching CNN news broadcasts.
And he is learning all of his nursery rhymes. Here’s one of my dad’s favorites:
